GREENBERG'S Guide to AURORA Model Kits. 1998
GREENBERG'S Guide to AURORA Model Kits. (1998)
From the Author
The whole story of Aurora and all its models
As a boy I loved building plastic models. For some reason, Aurora's kits just seemed to have a style or feel that hooked me. I built them all. Then I grew up, went to work and forgot about modeling for years. A while ago I discovered that there is a small world of model kit collectors, and I was hooked again. The grownup me is a professional historian, and I set out to reasearch and write the definitive history of the company and compile a descriptive list of all Aurora's models. This book is it. The book is based on interviews with company executives, engineers, sculptors, advertising men, and box art painters. I've found photos of many of the well-known Aurora kits, but also some of obscure kits and even models that never went into mass production. If you've liked my "Classic Kits" columns in Fine Scale Modeler magazine, you'll love this book.
